Procrastination can kill! I have been planning to update the diary from last week but had not been able to gather myself to do that. You feel bad about it, but some bad habits hardly go away easily. Ridhima has become a grown up girl now. She communicates almost everything quite effectively. She knows how to emphasize on words and sentences to get the desired effect.
Today is Ganapati emersion and the entire city gets into frenzy. No one wants to go to office and entire city looks like a huge mess of colours and celebrations. Decibel levels reaches at the unbearable level in the streets and no one cares. The immersion will happen the entire night; some idols in the queue will get their chance only next morning.
It is a huge opportunity to celebrate life no doubt, but we fail to realize that the babies like Ridhima would find it very- very difficult to cope up with this unprecedented increase in decibel levels, the deafening fire crackers. I also used to think that it is a few days in a year when you have those “let go” days when you can let your hair down but now when I see Ridhima gets shaken up by the constant noise I realize that I was wrong.
It is half past 11 in the night and she is still all awake watching TV with us. Her mom says she has slept much in the evening and would not go to bed soon. She has balloon in her hand is still playing with and calling “Mamma” in between. She now knows how to nod to say “Yes” or “No”. She now clearly says hindi words like “aataa, Chhataa, Gaay etc…” and she remembers it. Now her mom is worried and has taken the charge to make her sleep. Its time!
