Week 14 - Daughter Diary

Things are delayed sometimes and your patience is put to test if you have faith you will win. Its been really a long wait for me to bring my daughter here in Mumbai . It was this Sunday (13th Dec. 2013) when my call was answered when everything worked in favor of me. It was Ridhima's first day out and she was watching everything with his cute little eyes as if trying to understand things. No she did not throw much tantrum not even cried for the first two hours.

It was when the cool breeze of Kandala made way to the hot and humid winds of Mumbai when she felt uncomfortable. This red t-shirt gifted to her by one of her grandparents was not keeping her cool enough and we did not realize it till she went completely crazy weeping. Rinku and I were trying our every bit to keep her calm but she would not stop crying. I suggested to change her cloth to something lighter and remove her huggies - she was wearing it for the first time. However the TV commercials brag they are heavy and uncomfortable for your baby. She actually felt better and started playing. We took a sigh of relief. Couple of more hours and we were home. She was fine until then. One of my friends with her wife came down to see her and she played.

It was 7-7.30 PM when she started crying and she went unstoppable. Rinku and I were taking turns to keep her calm but of no avail. We were so worried that we thought of rushing her to the doctor, Rinku could not help crying along with her. The situation was difficult for me. But then I took her and rocked her, she was so tired by that time that almost instantly she slumped into slumber. She slept for the whole night and woke up next morning all fresh and fine.

Her Nani and aunty  also reached Kolkata with rest of the family to celebrate Durga Puja and Diwali and were missing their Ridhima badly. Here Ridhima also misses them specially in the evenings when she would cry and would not listen to anyone. I feel blessed when she smile at me and put her gum-set on display graciously. She has started recognizing me and does not mind playing with her Papa anymore. she would make funny noises and coo to communicate things or just put her hands into her tiny little mouth and chew on it. The sparkle in the eyes are so infectious it almost shakes you alive and make you live longer.

I am still an underachiever and a regret a lot of things happened with me and my career but I thank god for blessing me with Ridhima.
