Week 52 - Daughter Diary

See! My brand new shoes.
The weekend was a whirlwind. It took a toll on us. Ridhima and her Dad (me) have severe cough and cold now. Could not do anything since Friday evening but shop and shop some more. Not that we bought stuff for Ridhima only but for every one of us. It’s been months since I shopped so much. Monday blues got aggravated when I checked the account today. The spend was in tune of ten grand. It took us three days and almost 15 shops in three different markets to finalize the birthday dress for my little girl. No I do not have so much patience it was her mom who did not want to leave a single stone unturned when it came to the first birthday of her little angel. I almost kept quite all this while, kept paying the bills. As if I had other options!
Week 52 - Daughter Diary
I bought a couple of good and expensive shoes, some clothes along with a couple of dresses for Rinku, she can’t be left alone you see! The rains have not arrived still and the weather is simply horrible. It was not easy hopping shops in the sun.

We took her to the doctor as her mom insisted we could not see our child ill when it is only two days when she has to celebrate her first birthday. Unfortunately, it was Sunday and doctor did not arrive only. I think today her Mom has taken her to the clinic. The place for the party is booked invitation calls rounded up. It is just that we need to order a nice cake and a lot of balloons to complete the preparation.

Cough has made our angel a little upset but she is not all that affected by all this. She still is as much mischievous, throws things around, screams, whispers keeping our faith alive that she is fine. How I wish her grandparents were here! This celebration could have gone to another level.
I keep them updated about her antics though and they long see her one more time.

PS: Her invitation letter to her Maasi (Aunt):
Dear Maasi,

It’s been an eventful year for my Mom and Dad, especially mom who had to go thru a lot bringing me up.

The good news is I am celebrating my 1st birthday on 9 July and have been pretty busy planning for it. Need to buy an angel dress, matching shoes, balloons, cakes and what not.

Dad is a busy man and he forgets most of the things so I thought of reaching out to you directly to invite you. I hereby call my favorite Maasi to come and party with me. And bless me so that I become a big girl soon and help my mom and my lazy dad.

Ok! Need to sleep now its been a busy day today. See you at the party.

Your little girl,
Ridhima
