Year II Week 2 - Daughter Diary

Someone has rightly said, "A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend."
Last week was a hangover week. We hardly talked anything else but the party. And to top it all one of friends called us for yet another buffet at some big hotel and we had a blast… well almost. I am still to work on the birthday images that need to be inserted into the last post and here we have got another batch of them screaming to get attention. Lot of work you see!

It was yesterday when my brother in law and his family visited us with their super active kids. By the time I reached home after a long day in office, Ridhima was already all over the place with her brothers. The balls and toys were all flying around and we parents had a mixed feeling of happiness and concern. He is moving to America in couple of days from now and he wanted to meet us before he leaves. It was good fun.

I noticed yesterday that Ridhima now recognizes her toys specially her big red ball that was gifted to her and we often play with it together and her doll that speaks and dances. Whenever her brothers took it she used to look at me and say “Baaul”. She watched them play with her curious eyes and was reacting to it with her smiles and happy eyes.

One more thing that happened was Ridhima was made to stand-up on her own and walk. To my surprise she was doing it. Not walking like we do but taking baby steps and stumbling in between. I repeated the same thing in the morning and she responded nicely. I am not in a hurry though to make her walk and she will take her time to do it slowly. Yes! I will do it on daily basis from now on so that she finds it to be interesting. I would love to make her like it.

She has been very selective when it comes to eating. You cannot feed her what she does not like. The only thing that we force feed her is the outside milk, I think thrice a day to ensure she stays healthy. She knows where her clothes are, she cries when I go out of the house because she loves to go “bahaaar” (outside) all the time. She wants to see “bhu-bhu” (dogs) and enjoy “mum” (the rains). She does not like “mum-mum” (bathing) very much though. Any word can mean anything if she is not happy. Life is so simple. Please god! Make me a child again!
