week 3- Daughter Diary

This is her third Tuesday and she is growing up nicely. When I say growing up it means she is developing her set of priorities such as the light has to be dimmed if she has to sleep and the room should be absolutely quite, dislike for all medicines and so on. She has started giving Rinku sleepless nights. She feeds on mother's milk and sleep the whole day to wake up in the night. Rinku is finding it difficult to cope up with this.

I caught the evening train at 5.10 from this Friday from Mumbai and it was around 10 PM when I reached my in-law's place in Pune. Baby was awake. I had my quick dinner and insisted that I would sleep with Rinku and our baby. It was the first night I was going to sleep with my daughter and that was destined to be special. My baby did not sleep till four O'clock in the morning all she kept doing was crying, feeding and again crying. I saw how Rinku wanted to sleep! She used to doze of feeding her. She had her stitches on and it was difficult to sit but the baby could not be fed if she did not sit. She had been taking everything in her stride and telling me to go to sleep that she could take care of everything. I felt very helpless.

It was necessary for her to take a few burps after every feeding session so that she could digest the milk well and keep from puking it. You need to walk resting baby's head on your shoulder firmly tapping her back so that she could belch out the gas she had accumulated feeding.

Monday morning with less sleep and a heavy head i left for Mumbai and that's how a hectic weekend came to an end.
