Week 36 - Daughter Diary

We have been pretty much busy trying to feed Ridhima outside food and the result so far has been  discouraging. It was 4-5 days ago when she started to look dull. She had been coughing since last week only but the last two nights were tough as she could hardly sleep, keeping her mother on constant vigil.

We had also been resisting to go to the doctor as the antibiotic doses could be harmful for her. We kept giving her turmeric and Tulsi paste mixed with her mother's milk and what it did was it helped Ridhima get rid of the cough. But it did not help much reducing the intermittent fever.

Today, we took her to the doctor. There was nothing to worry, doctor confirmed. She has viral fever and will be fine soon. The medicine will continue till the next three days. He insisted that its been more than 8 months now and we should find ways and means to feed her solid food. Her requirements are growing and her mother's milk wouldn't suffice. We need to intensify the trial and error thing with different kinds of foods including fruits to know what she likes.

Giving medicine to a toddler is not the easiest thing in this world. Ridhima made it very clear that the task is going to be tough. What she does is, she first locks her mouth and if at all the dropper enters into her mouth forcefully she would stops swallowing a single drop. Go figure!

The happy news is she has responded well to the medicine. We heard her loud high pitch song just after the first dose. She is coming back to her naughty self.

We have been thinking to give her another bed now as it appears that she falls short of space when she sleeps in the middle of us and keeps rolling on her sides every now and then.

I couldn't help posting this poem:
