Year II Week 4 - Daughter Diary

It becomes rather late these days when I reach home after a long day at work. It was 9.30PM when I rang the doorbell almost half drenched, yesterday. Half drenched because I left my umbrella in the auto rickshaw while rushing to office in the morning. Mondays are always like that you know?

Anyways, Ridhima was awake and she greeted me with all her glory as she always does by waving her tiny hands vehemently. Rinku then reminded me that I had to bring some tamarind on my way back, she was preparing something special and it couldn't do without it. I left my bag on the sofa and hurried downstairs, did not even listened to Rinku’s call who was stopping me and the calls of Ridhima who started crying seeing me go, again. It was 30 minutes when I returned back only to see her fast asleep.

It is painful at times to keep a balance between things. The best part was, the dinner Rinku made was just awesome! Ridhima is growing rapidly and she is growing mischievous at even faster pace. Rinku told me that she sometime comes very close holds her mom’s head close and looks directly into her eyes saysing “Babu-ba-bu”. At the outset,  Rinku did not understand what she was saying only today she realized that it was her own reflection visible in her mother’s eyes that made her say that. Whenever she sees a kid she just calls “Babu” even if she is herself in the mirror.

She wants to play football with me especially when I reach home in the evening. Would hold something to come close and share breakfast with me in the morning. Yes! Only a couple of morsels but she would do it on daily basis. She likes eating what we eat and not the baby food that we and the doctors insist. How in the world can we make her understand this. Tomorrow I am going to Goa for an office tour and will be there till Sunday (four Nights to be precise) and Rinku has been insisting that she will go to Pune with Ridhima as she will find it hard to stay here alone. I haven’t got her tickets yet.
